Upcoming of Major Projects List of One Belt One Road

The upcoming plan of One Belt One Road will include a detailed list of hundreds of major projects, which will be signed or started in the next few years, covering  railroad, highway, energy, information, and industrial parks, etc. New projects which are planned to be launched in 2015 are mainly located in China’s friendly neighbor countries, with Sino-Tajik highway (in 2nd stage) to middle-south Asia, Karakoram highway (Sino-Pakistan) and Gwadar port (in Pakistan) coming up together.

According to the authorities, the above-mentioned list will specify in details the concrete projects and corresponding responsible units. Projects on the list is mainly concentrated in China’s neighbor countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Pakistan. Xinjing, as the key region of One Belt One Road, “is becoming an open front from the past bottom of pocket”, said Shawkerati Zhakar, deputy to the NPC and chairman of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, during the 2 Sessions.

Xinjiang, located at the center of the Eurasian continent, is China’s bridgehead open to the west and an important node and core region of the Silk Road Economic Belt. Surrounded by eight countries, there are in Xinjiang 17 national first-class ports and two state-level economic and technological development zone (ETDZ), Kashgar ETDZ and Horgos ETDZ.

The list will also attach importance to Sino-Kazakhstan capacity cooperation. Kazakh Prime Minister Masimov will pay a goodwill visit to China and attend the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA). “Related enterprises of the two countries will sign relevant cooperation agreements, which will also be the early harvest of Sino-Kazakhstan capacity cooperation with the amount of money involved being more than 10 billion USD.”
